So to reiterate, I've only got the forward wing spar and the aileron and flap spars left to do for the wood wing parts, for now. I'll have to wait until I have enough space for the main and aft wing spars to make them. This is also ignoring leading and trailing edges and tip bows along with other odds and ends, I'm sure.

I'm going to work on the forward wing spar first. I need a long, flat surface for this one, as well as the aileron and flap spars, so I took a shot at making a flat surface on my table top, which is no longer flat. I placed those long jig boards on top with shims underneath where necessary. I used that 5 ft. long angle aluminum as a straight edge and moved it around the surface to check the flatness along the length.

I used clamps and screws to smooth out bulges from the shims. It's really a trial and error sort of thing. Shim the low spots, clamp around them to flatten out, rinse, repeat. I only used the screws on the back side after I was sure where they were needed. It's flat now!
