So the forward main wing spar was the next thing on the to-do list. The aileron and flap spars as well. As I've said before, the main wing spar, as well as the aft wing spar, are too long to make in my garage, so those will have to wait. The forward wing spar is about 9 feet long and the aileron and flap spars are about 12 feet long. I can make these on my 12 foot table. The table is not entirely flat along the length so I want to use the long jig boards to make a flat surface by using shims underneath where necessary. This is much easier than ripping up the table top to flatten it so that's the plan.

Since the jig boards are in use by my friends who are doing the last ribs, I needed to find something else to occupy my time. So looking ahead, the next step for me is to make the tail hinges and then start assembling the tail. I remembered that I haven't shaped the stabilizer and fin leading and trailing edges yet, so that sounded like a good thing to work on to keep moving forward. Check out the tail parts section to see today's stuff.
