This past weekend, I drew on the rest of the hinges that I can make with this piece of angle aluminum. Tonight, I went down to the local EAA chapter room to cut out the first two pieces. They have a variable speed band saw so I can cut the aluminum easily on it. Here are the two pieces rough cut with the band saw. These are the same hinges that I tried before but this time I'll get it right.
I took them home and used my regular disc sander to shave them down to the line. Now they just need to be polished around the edges and I have to drill and ream the holes. I'll need to do the surface preparation after that though. Clean them thoroughly and alodine them. Here they are shaped.
