Today I had some help out in the workshop. My friend Dave, came out and let me give him some stuff to work on. We got started on the main fin spar. I tapered the inside edge of the spar caps, while he made the blocking that glues near the bottom of the spar. This tapering was done by a rough cutting with the bandsaw, followed by getting most of the way there with the sanding disc, and finishing it off by hand sanding. Here's a shot of the finished taper and gluing on the first blocking.
We also glued some plywood pads on the rudder spar.
And finally, cut the pass through holes out of the forward fin spar.
