I took a trip to Aircraft, Spruce & Specialty today to get some more plywood and West System Epoxy for varnishing. They didn't have some of the other West System accessories so I went to a boat store that had the full line of equipment.

I've only dealt with the thinner plywood, but today I got 1.5, 2 and 2.5 mm plywood for covering the spars. This stuff is much more bulky. Here is the 2 and 2.5 mm sheets, although it's a little close up to really tell how much thicker they are.

I was careful to measure out the elevator spar covers because they are so long that if I mess up the middle section of the plywood sheet, I'd have to get another sheet or join more sections with scarf cuts. Because the elevator spar is almost 10 feet long, the plywood already has to be scarfed together with a joint in the middle of the spar.

I'll have to come up with a way to make a 15-1 slope on 1.5 mm plywood, but I'll do that tomorrow. The rudder spar also gets a plywood cover of 1.5 mm so I cut that out and glued it to the spar today.
