I've spent two evenings now leveling the table. The first evening I wasted a bunch of time. I had purchased this electronic water level with this little beeping unit on one end, attached to a 25 foot clear tube. I liked the idea of being able to automatically set the level on one end and then match it at the other end. The problem was that after I leveled the table, I went back and checked the accuracy by testing the level right next to the unit and it was off by at least 2 mm. Checking the instructions, I found that the unit is accurate to 1/16 of an inch. Not good enough for me, so I went with a more traditional route. I used the bucket method, which has the benefit of being deadly accurate, very tolerant of errors, and the level can be read one end at a time. I could just move around the table with the tube end and make sure the level of the water in relation to the level of the table was the same all around.
