Today, I added the second thin layer of varnish to the interior elevator skins. I'm using a squeegee, also known as a plastic spreader, to coat the surfaces. The spreader leaves a great thin layer of varnish. It's very even and glossy. This second layer really seals the surface. It seemed like I used less varnish for the second layer than I did for the first. Perhaps due to the first thin layer mostly filling the surface of the wood like a sponge and the second just riding on top of that. Sounds good anyway.
