Checking the fit of the trim tab control arm with the cable on there made it pretty obvious that I have the control arm with the flange facing outboard. This means I need to add a block of spruce to the trim tab to support the control arm screws. I figured this would be the easiest time to sand off the epoxy there and fit and shape the block to be added. I sanded down about 1 mm so I was sure it was a pure wood surface to glue to for the block.
I made the extra block and fit it in. I'm not going to glue it in just yet. I'll probably wait until I have one side of the elevator skinned. Then I can just float sand one side of the block instead of having to do both.
