I figured I would try to use the same laminate trimmer jig that I used before for scarfing the leading edges of the elevator trailing edge skin. I used the edge of the jig that I had for tapering the stabilizer leading edge strip in the table saw, for a surface to run along the length of the scarf because the edge is already beveled. The angle doesn't match the angle that the laminate trimmer base sits at, so it was a little tricky but it was manageable. For best results, you would need a long flat surface that's beveled to match the base of the laminate trimmer. Here's the practice piece I scarfed and then the scarfed trailing edges sitting on top of the elevator.
