I fit all of the tail hinges together to check the balance weight before I ream up the final hole in the arms. I wanted to check that the arms sit flat against the stainless steel stop on the bottom of the stabilizer spar and that the 16 degrees down elevator is there.

I checked the angle with a combination square and it looks good. The arms, on the other hand, do not sit flat against the stop.

Another builder, Ken, had the same problem and he suggested the geometry doesn't take into account the thickness of the stainless steel stop. He said to shave off that thickness from the arms where they hit the stop. The angle of full down elevator will obviously be slightly more than 16 degrees but that doesn't seem like a problem. I'll have to mess with that next weekend.
